 Burnout

Burnout is a state of emotional and physical exhaustion resulting from environment, and internal stressors. It triggers a negative attitude towards job, and needs identifying and treating. A person can be at a high risk of burnout, but have many other compensatory factors, so not get burntout.

Resilience 
Resilience is important, but doesn't solve all problems and must be looked at in conjunction with improving workload and environment.

1. Lifestyle Tips - 

 * Practice straightforward communicatoin

* Relaxation

* Maintain interest and hobbies

* Keep in touch with your friends

* Have a balance in life


2. Physical health

* Stay healthy

* Sleep properly

* Exercise well


3. Give yourself a break

* Reward achievement

* Have a change of scenery

* Always have a holiday planned - move from one holiday to the next like Tarzan

* Resolve conflict, including with yourself - forgive yourself. 

* Outsource where possible

* Don’t sweat the small stuff


4. Maintain your own mental health

* Be positive - look for the silver lining.

* Resilient people can display positive and negative emotions to the same thing

* Give yourself mental breaks

* Give things lack of permanence - my boss didn’t like my work on that project is much better than my boss never likes my work. 


5. Appraisal and support

* Talk about how resilient you are in your appraisal. 

* Tell your friends if you’re struggling. 

* Use all available resources and support on stress
