Financial Wellbeing and Alcohol

This fortnight we've been focussing on alcohol and finances. We're not the best at creating noticeboard designs...

Salt Dough COVIDs

 Merry Christmas

This Christmas I wanted to get everyone something that could be used to mark the unique year we are having. We have 49 junior Doctors + locums + ACP so this couldn't be anything too expensive or serious. I thought I'd make a COVID Christmas tree decoration. This doubled up as some relaxing and de-stressing crafting with a point. It's not perfect, but hopefully some of you will appreciate them.

The internet suggested salt dough could be used as an aromatherapy carrier, so some are fragranced with Christmassy cloves, relaxing peppermint and lavender. No... I couldn't smell it either.

The internet also suggested using stamps, so I used some of the Disney couples stamps we used at our wedding to imprint some love and happiness into the COVID suns. You can see them if you squint, but know and realise the love is there!

All in all, the COVID decorations need a bit of modification, and I look forward to hearing your improvement suggestions for ... ... next year. Will these last for next year? Possibly - they might get damp and absorb the moisture from the air and collapse in a heap or they might survive.

If you don't want your salt dough COVID, I completely understand - maybe find someone who does. The 49 ED Doctors received one, as did the ACPs, but none of the regular locums or Consultants or Nurses received one. I

Salt Dough
I used this recipe from Hobbycraft. I used a food mixer with a K beater because I'm lazy. I also used food die - but the green faded in the heat (oops). Oven was at 170 fan. A few stuck to greaseproof paper, but mostly they were OK. I used this COVID cutter. I started with acrylic paint and then spray painted them..
